This is getting pretty close to the bicycle chopper I’d like to make for myself. I really like the recumbent-style seat, although in the ideal chopper in my mind it’s resting as low as the bottom tube, or even lower, so the back of the seat basically follows the curve of the wheel like a fender. That would require some serious rejiggering of the chain — probably an intermediate chainring — or front wheel drive, which would require a steerable rear wheel; do people ever do that? I don’t know. I’d also like both of the tires to be full size, and 3″ or bigger wheels. The overall effect would be of a rider suspended just off the ground between two giant, fat wheels.

Did you see this from the same photo stream? It’s front-wheel-drive but looks like the front wheel still steers–I guess you’d steer with your feet while pedaling?

I did! Not bad but it seems like it would be hard to steer.

I’m thinking you could set the pivot point somewhat back on the frame.

    You could have reins.

Gotta be big ol’ ape hangers, I think. I want my shoulders to ache after riding this bad boy.
