Modernist German book design

So pretty, so clean! The site is actually kind of gold mine of design ideas. Check out the boss furniture, too. That book, like many of them, is actually Swiss; the German modernist tradition was apparently too Jewish and international for the Nazis, so the whole design aesthetic got deported. Does this mean Helvetica’s actually German? Wouldn’t that just figure.

    I have a paperback copy of the Tschichold book at my Cambridge apartment. You could look at it the next time you go over to water my plants.

    And yeah, Akzidenz Grotesk is nice. I used to have it on my computer, but lost it in an update or a crash somewhere along the way.
