Green is the color of unlikeliness

So Wired has this story on “green concept cars”, except they’re not “green” anything; they’re utterly impractical computer renders of ridiculous, over-the-top car designs. Which, awesome, but if your idea is to make solar car with no solar panels, no room for a motor, and apparently enough excess power to have the passenger cockpit magnetically levitate, then couldn’t you at least imagine a way for the driver to see the road? I’ll tell you what would be a rad green car: take one of these bad boys and pack that enormous hood with batteries and maybe a little diesel motor. Endless plug-in hybrid Corvette summer awaits! Seriously. That’d be a great body to use for an electric conversion; all fiberglass! Light weight!

If the cockpit’s going to magnetically levitate, why, pray tell, would I need to see the road?

Dude, it’s Wired. It’s been crap for years and years and years.

But speaking of rad green cars, what you *really* want is this.
